Australian Marsanne, Viognier, White Blends

2015 Tahbilk Viognier

Viognier; White Wine

2015 Tahbilk Viognier

Central Victoria, Australia

Sorry, sold out. 2014 ETA mid-January.
Like Marsanne, Viognier has its origins in the French Rhone Valley so you could apply a logic that if Marsanne does well in our region so would Viognier (as would our third Rhone white, Roussanne, but that's another story). We certainly think it does, but with a character that is all its own perfumed rose petal characters, a heady splash of apricot fruits, cinnamon & spice all balanced with crisp acidity on the finish.

Marsanne; White Wine

2015 Tahbilk Marsanne

Central Victoria, Australia

New Vintage!

This is our most eagerly awaited white release each year. After all we do have the largest single vineyard holdings of Marsanne in the world, we have the oldest plantings in the world (no prizes by the way for nominating 1927 as the year!) and we set the Australian benchmark for this varietal! Bright and intense with lifted floral, citrus & tropical fruits. A minerally edge and delightful acidity finish it all off and provide support for its long life ahead.

2012 Torbreck Woodcutters Rousanne Viognier Marsanne

60% Roussanne/29% Viognier/11% Marsanne; White Wine

2012 Torbreck Woodcutters Rousanne Viognier Marsanne

Barossa Valley, South Australia

16+ bottles available.
Wonderfully lifted, floral and fragrant, the blend is alluring and complex and shows that these non-traditional varieties to the Barossa have adapted to their new home as well as their red counterparts have done over the last century or so. Although beautifully enjoyable in its youth with sashimi and fresh shellfish this wine will continue to increase in complexity with time and should provide compelling drinking over the coming years.

2012 Plantagenet Hazard Hill Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc

57% Sauvignon Blanc, 38% Semillon, 15% Riesling; White Wine

2012 Plantagenet Hazard Hill Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc

Western Australia

24+ bottles available.
Semillon’s lemon character is lifted and complemented by the grassy gooseberry notes of Sauvignon Blanc and the palate weight of Semillon is enhanced by the Sauvignon Blanc’s tighter linear structure. The supple juicy mid palate has delicious racy lemon and grapefruit flavors with a minerally counterpoint. Lovely balance, harmonious and round but finishing with crisp clean finish and lovely long flavors. The punchy, grassy nature of the Pemberton fruit shines through this blend.

Nagambie Lakes, Victoria, Australia

"95 pts ... Museum? I don't think so. This is still an adolescent, with years to travel before it reaches full maturity, let alone retirement to an old wines' home. On the one hand, there is vibrant citrussy acidity, on the other a distinct edge of honeyed flavour build-up. That said, there are lots of reasons to enjoy it right now." -- James Halliday

Marsanne; White Wine

2007 Tahbilk 1927 Vines Marsanne

Nagambie Lakes, Victoria Australia

The 2007 ‘1927 Vines’ Marsanne is intense and vibrant with a defined mineral edge. The aromas are of straw and citrus leading to a palate of lemon zest, crunchy nashi pear, quince and ginger spices with background hints of the honeysuckle development to come; all braced by a steely acid backbone that will support its decided long-term cellaring potential.
