IN'KA WINES Limari Valley, Chile "The San Antonio Valley offers unique conditions of topography and climate making it the new rising terroir star of Chile. The vineyards for In’Ka Pinot Noir are situated a mere 14km from the Pacific Ocean. The temperate climate allows for cool nightly temperatures and warm, sunny days which lead to ripe fruit with balanced acidity. The In’Ka vineyards are farmed naturally without the use of artificial pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or chemical weed killers. The Mapuche Indians are the indigenous people from the southern areas of Chile & Argentina that held onto many cultural traits over the centuries, in particular their language and metal working practices. In’Ka, meaning companion in the native Mapuche language, pays homage to these people who developed a strong silver working tradition that evolved around 1550 when the Mapuche melted and crafted jewelry from the Spanish & Chilean silver coins that were in circulation throughout the region." |
