2010 Tahbilk Viognier 90 JH; 88 WS Surprising body and dry finish, pretty aromatics. A sunny deck, a bowl of fresh fruit, and some chilled Tahbilk Viognier. Say no more. "Like Marsanne, Viognier has its origins in the French Rhone Valley so you could apply a logic that if Marsanne does well in our region so would Viognier (as would our third Rhone white, Roussanne, but that's another story). We certainly think it does, but with a character that is all its own perfumed rose petal characters, a heady splash of apricot fruits, cinnamon & spice all balanced with crisp acidity on the finish." 2011 Tahbilk Marsanne 93 JH This is a freaky wine. Really old vines, sweet, floral aromatics, dried stone fruit flavors, dense body, dry finish, and capable of cellaring for many years. All that for so little. Truly freaky. "This is our most eagerly awaited white release each year. After all we do have the largest single vineyard holdings of Marsanne in the world, we have the oldest plantings in the world (no prizes by the way for nominating 1927 as the year!) and we set the Australian benchmark for this varietal! Bright and intense with lifted floral, citrus & tropical fruits. A minerally edge and delightful acidity finish it all off and provide support for its long life ahead." Learn More ... |

2007 Tahbilk Cabernet Sauvignon 93 JH; 91 WA "Elegant and medium-bodied, the palate lends medium-high acid and firm fine tannins." ""91 pts ... The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a little subdued with moderate aromas of cassis, black olive and smoked game plus an appealing mushroomy / earthy character. Elegant and medium-bodied, the palate lends medium-high acid and firm fine tannins. The finish is long. Still a touch mute and tight, give this wine another 2-3 years in bottle and drink 2013-2022+" -- Wine Advocate" Learn More ... |

2009 Tahbilk Shiraz New Vintage! '08 93 JH Australians know Tahbilk produces unique wines. The reds are comparatively reserved and a tad hard edged at the beginning of their lives but really reward the patient, and yes even a wine at this price is cellar worthy. This Shiraz shows us medium-bodied purple fruits, nice tannins, and more development potential, although we certainly wouldn't refuse to imbibe freely right away. "Notes of dried plums, blackberry and black cherry preserves and mulberries over chocolate, aniseed, tar and damp earth. Full bodied in the mouth, it provides firm, tight-knit tannins and a good amount of blackberry and savoury flavours that linger long onto the finish." Learn More ... |

2005 Tahbilk 'Eric Stevens Purbrick' Shiraz 94 JH Not quite ready to reveal itself yet after only six years, this Shiraz now shows lovely, dark red fruit flavors, some spice, and plenty of potential. If you cannot resist temptation, do decant the wine first. "Red-purple, clear and bright; dark fruits/blackberry/licorice/tar aromas and flavours, oak playing a minimal role; excellent balance and length; years to go." Learn More ... |

2005 Tahbilk 'Eric Stevens Purbrick' Cabernet 93 WA "Intensely ripe and deep fruit cake plum and black currant aromas." "Intense cassis and mint aromas over subtler notes of pencil shavings, truffles, soy and black olive. Tightly knit, the condensed palate is finely constructed with medium-high acid and a firm level of grainy tannins. Still appearing very youthful, this wine should be at its best from 2014-2024+." 2007 Tahbilk Marsanne Museum Release 93 JH; 90 WA "Mineral, spice and honeysuckle cohabit on a long, crisp finish. A classic in the making." ""90 pts ... The 2007 Museum Release Marsanne gives notes of hay, toasted almonds and baking bread over a core of lemon curd, lime leaves and apple tart. The dry, light-bodied palate fills the mouth with evolving savory / nut and citrus fruit flavors, with a good backbone of lively acid, and finishes long. 2006 Tahbilk 1860 Vines Shiraz 97 JH; 96 WA "From a vineyard planted in 1860. Packs-in layers of flavors with crisp acid and firm, grainy tannins, finishing long and earthy." ""96 pts ... Coming from a single vineyard planted in 1860, the 2006 1860 Vines Shiraz was aged in French oak hogheads, 30% new, for 26 months. Very deep garnet colored, it presents a complex, savory nose with notes of sandalwood, Ceylon tea and cigar boxes over cranberry tea, red currant preserves, kirsch, potpourri, anise and forest floor. Elegant and medium bodied in the mouth, it packs-in layers of flavors with crisp acid and firm, grainy tannins, finishing long and earthy. It makes a very good glass now though will reward cellaring, drinking to 2024+. " -- Wine Advocate" Learn More ... |
