2010 Felton Road Pinot Noir "Bannockburn" 91 WA Pretty, concentrated red cherry and earth, long flavors, enjoyable tannins on the finish, altogether delightful. "A nose of dusty florals emphasised by pink roses and violets integrates seamlessly with Asian spices of cinnamon and clove. The palate opens softly, staying with the florals and adding fresh berries and a pleasing seam of minerality. Mouthcoating, but never cloying, it is subtle and caressing; a wine of harmony, restraint and sophistication that intrigues rather than shouts it's breeding. 2010 Felton Road Calvert Pinot Noir 91+ WA; 90 ST Fruit flavors are darker and not as ripe as the Bannockburn, aromas of spice add layers, plenty of power and tannic balance if you prefer to put off your drinking pleasure. "While the classic Felton Road florals are here, it is the sweet core of berries that marks the nose with a touch of sandalwood. The palate has serious textural weight, but as always with Calvert, it’s carried tautly with the fruit held firmly in its core. Sweet berries and redcurrants rather than cherries or plums.
