Here is the Carmenere which will quiet the doubters. Full-bodied and rather elegant, rich berry flavors with lifted spice and oak notes. Great with a variety of foods but we just wanted to keep quaffing on its own.

"Intensely aromatic on the nose, with ripe notes of cassis, cherry, blueberry and blackberry, all framed by delicate spicy touches and tobacco leaf aromas. Lush, juicy and expansive on the palate, the wine is nicely structured and shows great personality without compromising its gentle finesse. A vibrant acidity leads to a refreshing persistent finish with more spicy notes that reflect very well the typicity of the San Rafael terroir."
"89% Carmenere, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. The grapes were hand-picked between late April and mid May and immediately transported to the winery for sorting and gentle de-stemming. Next, the fruit was cold macerated for six days followed by a warm ferment lasting four to five weeks and punch downs took place one to two times daily. The wine matured for twenty-four months in French oak barrels 50% new. 14% alc."
"90 pts ... Seductive aromas of blueberry, oregano and juniper are different than the norm. This is concentrated and inky, with intense black fruit flavors as well as notes of juniper berry and lemony oak. A lush, fruity finish is pure and jammy but not overly complex."
