2012 Tim Adams Shiraz
Clare Valley, South Australia
Intense yet elegant, especially after a bit of air, the long, dark and juicy fruit flavors are kissed lightly by licorice and oak. Clearly has the balance and oomph for cellaring. Pairs well with the usual culprits - lamb, duck and dishes with exotic spices - and also with pepper steak, roasted turkey with cranberry, or your favorite chair and a good mystery.

"This blend of local vineyards has produced a wine with strong regional and varietal definition. The wine has a lively deep purple hue with aromas and flavours of violet, blackberry and mulberry. Further complexity is built through 22 months of American oak maturation. The palate is full and soft in the front and middle, with flavours of small berry fruit complemented by the oak. The wine finishes with moderate oak and fruit-derived tannins. This elegant Clare Shiraz has power and finesse which makes it both approachable now and worthy of keeping for up to 10 years."

$18.99From the highly regarded '12 Clare Valley vintage, right now, this wine is truly yummy. Flavorful, dry and zippy. You can just taste the future and it will be even more scrumptious. So well balanced and just the right amount of fruit - we taste white stonefruit.

$18.9990 WA Australians know Tahbilk produces unique wines. The reds are comparatively reserved and a tad hard edged at the beginning of their lives but really reward the patient, and yes even a wine at this price is cellar worthy. This Shiraz shows us medium-bodied purple fruits, nice tannins, and more development potential, although we certainly wouldn't refuse to imbibe freely right away.
