2011 Tacuil RD
Salta, Argentina

These vines are only eight years old and yet produce an aromatic, full-bodied, dark red fruit-flavored wine of many yummy layers. There is a bit of pepper on the nose and finish. All the Bodega Tacuil wines are Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon blends from vines situated at over 7,000' in the Salta region, and spend zero time on wood.

Winemaker's Notes
"Red pepper, tabasco surrounded by a red/black fruit combo makes the aromatics unmistakable from this very unique high mountain estate. The fruit freshness on the palette is remarkable considering the wine is over 14% alcohol. This is a great introduction to the exotic nature of the Bodega Tacuil wines."

Technical Notes
"80% Malbec/20% Cabernet Sauvignon. From 8 year old vines grown at 8,600 feet. No oak used. 15% alc."

"90 pts ... Highly aromatic, multifaceted nose melds cassis, licorice pastille, black olive, coffee, gunflint, tobacco and a whiff of green pepper. Concentrated and lush, showing an exhilarating balance of sweetness and bright acidity. Intense black fruit flavors are lifted by pepper on the broad, sweet, firmly tannic finish."
