Winemaker's Notes
"Red-ruby. Plum and tobacco on the nose and palate. Big Old World with a truffley nuance and an amazing peppery acidity to frame and carry the red fruit flavors. The finish is subtle and persistent, with refined dusty tannins."

Technical Notes
"Aged 9 months in French oak barrels. 14.% alc."
James Suckling
"90 pts ... Fascinating aromas of dried flowers and dark currants. Full to medium body with bright fruit and a delicate finish. Turns to chocolate and sweet tobacco."

Wine Advocate
"89 pts ... The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon mixes grapes from Medrano where it is warmer and their vines are young, while Agrelo is fresher (very old vines). The wine aged for eight months in French oak barrels, third and fourth-use. It is a ripe Cabernet with a creamy texture, where they are looking for the varietal character. It has a velvety palate and is medium-bodied and intense, with fine tannins combining the elegance of the Old World and fruit of the New World. "

2012 Bleasdale Cabernet Sauvignon 'Mulberry Tree'
93 JH; 90 ST Maybe we are suggestable, but this terrific wine does indeed taste of mulberry, or is it blackberry, boysenberry, blueberry...well you get the idea. Wonderful, juicy dark berry aromas and flavors dominate with hints of spice and licorice popping up on the nose and finish as well. Not heavy so perfect with fowl, veg dishes, and even a sturdy fish if you are so daring.
