2012 Cape Point Chardonnay
Cape Point, South Africa

What a deliciously rich Chardonnay showing some lovely dried white stone fruit flavors with hints of dried mango and toasty French oak on the long finish. Great pairing wine because of the balancing acidity, and very much enjoyed it with a spicy pork tenderloin dish.

Winemaker's Notes
"The wine shows a complex array of citrus, apricot, oatmeal and honey flavours with strong minerality and some subtle, spicy oak. This all follows onto a wonderfully full palate with crisp acids and great length. This Chardonnay is drinking beautifully at present, but try to exercise patience as it will only improve over the next 2-5 years."

Technical Notes
"100% Barrel-fermented (30% new), aged ten months in French oak. 14% alc."
Wine Advocate
"91 pts ... The 2012 Chardonnay is barrel-fermented and sees 10 months in 600-liter French oak barrels (30% new). It has a fine white peach and dried pineapple-scented bouquet that has fine lift and verve. The palate is bright and zest on the entry with a fine line of acidity, plenty of subtle pineapple and mango flavors, and a lithe, satisfying, vibrant finish. Very fine. Drink now-2016."
