2013 Delaire Graff Botmaskop
Stellenbosch, South Africa

Delicious black cherry flavors with a tarry, charcoal nudge on the mid-palate, balanced with nice tannins and structure on the long finish. Pretty powerful so give it some air or a little more time in your cellar.

Winemaker's Notes
"Powerful, yet elegant and polished. A beautiful Red Blend with classical aromas of dark berry fruit, spice and cassis. The softness of tannins and balance in structure complete this wine on the palate with an aging potential of 5 - 8 years."

Technical Notes
"63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec. Extensive sorting of the grapes formed part of the quality management process. The grapes were de-stemmed only, not crushed, to ensure gentle extraction of fruit flavours. Whole berry fermentation and gentle punch downs ensured extra care in handling of grapes. After basket pressing, the wine matured in French oak barrels for 18 months where malolactic fermentation took place. 14.5% alc."
