2010 Vasse Felix Heytesbury Cabernet
Margaret River, Western Australia

This gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon driven blend always contains small amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec from the original 1967 Malbec plantings of VF founder, Dr. Tom Cullity. Like the Heytesbury Chardonnay, this wine accounts for only 1% of overall production. Definitely a wine worthy of your cellar!

Winemaker's Notes
"Deep vibrant red in colour with a purple hue. A delicate and sophisticated perfume combining notes of red currant and blackcurrant with savoury tones of dried jarrah forest floor, peppy leaf and hints of cured venison, leather, pot pourri and mineral ironstone."

Technical Notes
"75% Cabernet/15% Petit Verdot/10% Malbec. The 2010 Heytesbury is a barrel selection of the very finest parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot and ismatured in French oak barriques for 18 months. It is made without compromise, and its production is strictly limited. Drinking beautifully now, and will reward cellaring for the next 10+ years. 14.5% alc."

"96 pts ... A powerhouse of concentration, wrapped seamlessly together with layers of cassis, red fruits, cedar, crushed leaf and violets; the palate is expansive yet precise, with an impressively long and persistent thread of elegant tannins and balanced acidity; this blend of cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and malbec is sure to age gracefully."
