2012 Jim Barry The Cover Drive Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra, South Australia

The winemaker's notes are spot on really - isn't that odd? We might add that the wine is full-bodied and has a really nice mouthfeel, or that he missed the bittersweet chocolate flavors, or that the wine is simply delicious and you should have some.

2012 Jim Barry The Cover Drive Cabernet Sauvignon

as part of a mixed case.

Sorry, presently out. More available in late January.

Winemaker's Notes
"This wine is deep garnet in colour with high clarity. The nose is very aromatic, displaying characters of cassis, cedar, blackcurrant and hints of dried herbs. The palate is medium bodied and generous, showing fine tannins, highlighted by flavours of boysenberry, menthol and morello cherries."

Technical Notes
"On the southern boundary of Coonawarra is the old Penola cricketground, which first saw a ball bowled in anger and the flashingcover drives of the local champions in 1950. Sadly, the groundclosed in 1996. Soon after Jim Barry purchased the 30 acreproperty and planted a Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard. The original pavilion and pitch have been retained, thus preservingan important piece of Coonawarra sporting history. Aged for 12 months in 50% French and 50% American oak. Acid 6.5 g/L; p.H. 3.47. 14.5% alc."
