2013 Cloudy Bay Te Koko Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand
How to describe such a beautiful, deep, thoroughly pleasing wine? Perhaps the almost one year in barrel or partial malolactic fermentation or extended time in bottle before release, so many possibilities and such wonderful results. Light floral and ginger combine with subtle orange, lemon, and an almost smoky component to make a mouthful of joy. Go for it.

"Juicy, with mouthwatering notes of nectarine, kaffir lime and lemongrass. A round and creamy mouthfeel complimented by a gentle minerality, while the nervy acidity contributes to a youthful and vibrant finish. Cellaring potential 10 years minimum."
"After settling for a period of 24 hours the juice was racked directly to French oak barrels (8% new) and allowed to undergo a wild fermentation completed in 4-5 months, while partial malolactic fermentation tempered its fresh acidity. The wine remained in barrel on yeast lees until October 2014, when it was racked and lightly fined for clarity. 13.5% alc."
