"5/5 Stars ... This is an example of oak in Sauvignon Blanc being impeccably handled. The toastiness brought on by barrel fermentation, and the complex. oily texture give this wine a white-Bordeaux-like personality." Winemaker's Notes
"Lifted passionfruit, lime zest, stonefruit and floral aromatic notes produce a fresh, complex nose displaying wonderful varietal character. These are also found on the palate along with crisp acidity, chalky minerality and great length. Barrel fermentation has provided subtle mealy characters and added weight." Technical Notes
"After harvest the grapes were gently pressed with only the free run juice being used for this wine. Fermentation was predominantly in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts to enhance the aromatics. A small portion(7.5%) was fermented in seasoned French oak barriques to add richness and depth to the palate. Each batch was kept separately through the fementation process and only those batches of sufficient quality were blended to produce this wine." 13.5% alc. |
