2014 Lawson's Dry Hills Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand

We are quite possibly influenced by a wonderful winery visit, but nonetheless, this Sauvignon Blanc is a favorite every year as the penetrating flavors seem to dance happily in the mouth. There is something for everyone: light passionfruit, stone fruit, gooseberry, bracing acidity, and a long finish.

Winemaker's Notes
"Beautiful ripe passion fruit and citrus aromas leap from the glass. The palate display's a full array of flavour's from passion fruit, lime and tropical fruits, through to gentle fresh green herbs. This wine is finely balanced, the dry palate has crisp acidity and a lovely minerality."

Technical Notes
"The key thing during the 2014 vintage was to pick each parcel of grapes whilst they had optimal flavours. Once in the winery the grapes were gently pressed and fermented cool, predominantly in stainless steel tanks to retain the wines aromatic characters. A small portion of the blend (8%) was fermented in seasoned French oak barriques. Post fermentation the wines were allowed to rest on the yeast lees for several months. We then select only the best barrels and tanks for the final blend. 13% alc."

92+ WA If you find some Sauvignon Blancs have overly hard, acidic edges, this wine will be your antidote. Some time in barrel rounds out those edges and you are left with a glass full of gooseberry, slightly tart tropical fruit flavors, and very pleasant memories as the finish slowly slips away.

2015 Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc
Really crisp, refreshing, and minerally. Pile up the fried or otherwise prepared calamari, bake some goat cheese and sit it on a bed of arugula or thinly sliced green apples, or grate some pecorino on a heap of pasta, pour a glass or two and you will be in hog heaven!

2009 Lawson's Dry Hills Pinot Noir
A little smokiness which we find typical of many Marlborough Pinots, lots of bright black cherry and cinnamon perhaps as well on the palate. Flavors are definitely enhanced with foods including spicy lamb sausage, smoked fish, or herb roasted chicken.
