Winemaker's Notes
"Deep, dark color -- you could use it in an inkwell! Dense and concentrated but never loses its ability to exude the red and black fruits and spice that are the true expression of Malbec in Mendoza. This is a huge wine that is a blend of old-vine grapes from two of Mendoza's most respected growers, located in two different districts. Only 4 barrels produced. While you certainly could drink this now, it will improve considerably with 3-5 years in the bottle. If you do drink it now, decant a few hours before drinking."

Technical Notes
"From 50 year old vines . Aged 18 months in new French oak barriques. 14.9% alc."
Wine Advocate
"94 pts ...It has a very elegant bouquet of wild strawberry, red currant, orange zest and crushed stone that is beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins. It is a complex wine with blackberry, bell pepper, red peppercorns, cumin and a touch of fennel towards the finish, which is harmonious and very elegant. This is an outstanding Malbec that will age with style."

Stephen Tanzer
"93 pts ... Inviting aromas of blackberry, black cherry, licorice, menthol and mocha. Densely packed and silky, with superb intensity to the high-pitched dark berry flavors. Wonderfully sexy and velvety wine with terrific lift and sappiness. With its very firm spine of noble tannins and ripe acids, this beauty will mellow with time in bottle."

Wine Spectator
"92 pts ... This dark red has an aromatic side, with spice box, sandalwood and incense notes to the structured dark cherry, cassis and mineral accents."
