2011 Langmeil The Valley Floor Shiraz
Barossa Valley, South Australia

Dark and delicious is this sleeper Shiraz which some silly people ignore because they think the label is boring. Hello, its what's in the bottle. Delicious, juicy, and rich in a restrained, almost elegant way. Really well balanced.

Winemaker's Notes
"Medium to deep crimson in colour with purple hues. A rich and inviting aroma of Satsuma plum and raspberries mingles with fine milk chocolate, cedar, white pepper and sweet spice. Quite a mouthful of sweet and spicy fruit but balanced wonderfully with velvety yet youthfully austere tannins. A medium bodied wine showing nice complexity with hints of cedar and vanilla, which, in combination, flows through to the lengthy, pepper and spice finish. 14.5% alc."

"90 pts ...Good colour for the vintage, coupled with generous fruit, suggests that some of the top levels of Langmeil may have been declassified, allowing a cascade down to this neatly balanced, softly generous wine. Drink over the next few years and you won't be disappointed. 14.5% alc." --09/13
