"95 pts ... The 2006 Dry Red Wine #2 is composed of 96% Shiraz with 2% Viognier and 2% Marsanne. It is more opulent and layered than the Underhill cuvee with a noticeable aromatic lift form the addition of the white varietals. Elegant and exceptionally long, this beautifully rendered effort is a hedonistic turn-on for drinking over the next decade." --02/09
"94 pts ...'Best of the Best by Variety' A complex, fragrant bouquet foreshadows a palate with tremendous thrust and vitality to its array of spicy, ripe black fruits which have a backbone of sweetness; imposing length." --03/08
"93 pts ... Opaque ruby. Extremely complex scents of bright red and dark berries, smoky minerals and licorice. Sweet red berries and chewing tobacco on the palate, which is lithe and sharply focused but deep as well. Gains weight with air, picking up fine-grained, silky tannins on the long finish. Very impressive wine, and complex enough to enjoy on the young side, although I'd hold off for at least another six years before drinking this."
