2011 D'Arenberg High Trellis Cabernet
McLaren Vale, South Australia

Medium-bodied and more earthy than fruity. We taste coffee, plum, and dried dark berries. Needs to open up to be properly appreciated, so be patient.

Winemaker's Notes
"The nose is fresh and lifted, full of violets and blackcurrants mixing with leafy aromatics and violets. The oak supplies a touch of cedar adding complexity with the typical soulful earthiness of d'Arenberg reds. The palate is textured and lithe, coated by lacy tannins with a core of cassis, licorice and plum fruit mixed with earth, graphite and a mineral tail. It's well weighted, fresh and balanced, inviting now or will reward the patient."

2015 Penley Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon
$22.99
Great nose full of currant, dark earth, and some sort of brown spice all reflected on the palate as well. Medium-bodied and a touch of nice, grainy tannins. Flavors really blossom with food and a little air.

2012 Bleasdale Cabernet Sauvignon 'Mulberry Tree'
$18.99
93 JH; 90 ST Maybe we are suggestable, but this terrific wine does indeed taste of mulberry, or is it blackberry, boysenberry, blueberry...well you get the idea. Wonderful, juicy dark berry aromas and flavors dominate with hints of spice and licorice popping up on the nose and finish as well. Not heavy so perfect with fowl, veg dishes, and even a sturdy fish if you are so daring.

2013 Tahbilk Cabernet Sauvignon

94 JH Restrained and quite elegant, the palate reveals black fruit, black olive, and warm black earth. This rather amazingly well priced, delicious, medium-bodied Cabernet which will play nicely with your cooking every night of the week!
