Wine Advocate
"91 pts ... A lush, modern style, showing ample toast and polished texture, along with ripe fig, boysenberry and warm currant confiture notes that all weave together on the dark, lengthy finish, where a nice alluring hint of dark chocolate chimes in."
Stephen Tanzer
"91 pts ... Good deep ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of currant, mocha, chocolate and tobacco. Dense, supple and sweet; less fruity than the Signature cabernet but lusher in texture if not quite as delineated, with plenty of dusty tannins for support. Finishes with a menthol note."
Winemaker's Notes
"Deep, brooding and intense garnet color with deep aromas of black currants framed by light French oak. Big, lush and concentrated with a core of red and black currant fruit. It has a range of layered flavors including dark chocolate, tobacco and cedar leading into a long finish. Big and refined all at the same time. It will drink well now with a nice meal, but should improve over the next 5 years. Pairs well with beef, pork, lamb, squab, quail and duck."
