2016 Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand

Juicy stone fruit and pear with a zippy, herbal finish. As with so many Sauvignon Blancs, really refreshing.

Winemaker's Notes
"Classic Marlborough aromas of grapefruit, elderflower and a fusion of tropical fruits. Crisp and fine with a silken mouthfeel. Pure fruit flavours that persist through to a dry finish."

Technical Notes
"Sauvignon Blanc is grown in our Marlborough vineyard on stony riverbed terraces, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to give intense passionfruit and gooseberry fruit characters. The wine is fruit-driven in style, with complexity from lees ageing for several months in stainless steel tanks before bottling. This wine is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with intense flavours and crisp acid in a dry style. 13% alc."
Wine Enthusiast
"'Editor's Choice' 91 pts ... Editor’s Choice. This is a bit fuller and more textural than many Marlborough Sauvignons, which gives it an extra dimension. The aromas show just enough grassy punch to make them pop, while smooth grapefruit flavors build in intensity on the long finish."

Wine Spectator
"90 pts ... Tangy lime fruit, fresh-cut grass and lime zest notes mingle with grapefruit and lemon zest flavors. Good intensity on the mouthwatering finish."

5 Stars MC Wonderfully, delicately herbal on the nose with restrained gooseberry and tropical fruits on the palate. Always an elegant savvie, this vntage is also exuberantly dry and zippy. Terrific with goat or other cheeses and white meats with plenty of herbs.
