"Deep dark red with a purple hue. On the nose, vibrant notes of blueberry, plum, coconut, pastry and smoked meats. On the palate, immediately appealing, with lovely weight and glossy texture, this full bodied Shiraz has hints of blueberry pie, sweet spices, plum, and fresh pastries. Sweet fruits and a glossy, velvet texture caresses the palate, complimented by secondary notes of smoked meats and coal dust. Grainy and savoury tannins pull the wine through to an exceptionally long and complex finish."
"The grapes were crushed into and fermented in open top potters, with regular pump overs twice daily to extract colour and tannin. The grapes were then pressed and the wine was transferred to tank and then racked to barrel for oak maturation. 18 months in 25% new American oak hogsheads, the balance in 2-6 year old American and French oak hogsheads. Cellar potential 10-15 years. 16.5% alc."
"94 pts ... Exuberant, this bursts with clove, toasted coconut and dark chocolate flavors that are thick and velvety, complementing the kirsch notes at the core. A hint of fresh mint adds complexity. Generous, with a finish that goes on and on. Drink now through 2027."
