2015 Torbreck Woodcutters Semillon
Barossa Valley, South Australia

No way are we going to compete with the winemaker's excellent notes. Suffice it to say we find this delicious wine lightly fruity on the front and nicely dry on the finish.

Winemaker's Notes
"Medium bodied with a pristine lemon hue this youthful Semillon offers delicate scents of calamansi, limestone, candle wax, and toasted brioche. The copper-pink skins of this robust, age-old Madeira Clone flesh out the palate, lending notes of almond kernels, soft pineapple, roasted cashew and white peach. Underlying notes of citrus oil and minerals maintain the wine's freshness whilst a crisp spine of razor-like acidity neatly lace together the finish. Although beautifully enjoyable in its youth with sashimi and fresh shellfish this wine will continue to increase in complexity with time and should provide compelling drinking over the coming years."

Technical Notes
"100% Semillon. All 5 vineyards were hand picked and gently whole bunchpressed to individual vats where they were left to settle. After 24hours the younger blocks were racked to tank whilst the older morerobust parcels were transferred to 6 year old French barriqueswhere they underwent a long cool fermentation. The variouscomponents were later assembled prior to bottling inNovember 2010."

2015 Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz
94 JH Ready? Ground lamb awaiting a spoonful each of cinnamon, cumin and coriander with a handful of pine nuts and currants all whirred together in the cuisinart and blended into the lamb. Let it sit, whip together some greek yogurt, mint and garlic, barbecue those lamb burgers and enjoy the entire mess on a piece of naan with your wine. This incredible combo works well with any fruit forward shiraz such as this intensely dark-fruited example or Gnarly Dudes or Moppa.

2015 Brokenwood Hunter Valley Semillon
94 JH We love Brokenwood; anything from Brokenwood. Hunter Valley has a well-earned reputation for excellent, dry semillons, and this bottle is no exception. Delicate aromas of green apple and lemon, which come through on the palate as barely sweet and long with a wonderful dry finish.
