2011 Vina Cobos "Marchiori" Malbec
Mendoza, Argentina

Honestly, we could hardly drink this when we had the good fortune to try it some time back....and then we could not stop. Each descriptor which came to mind required an "nth" factor. This wine is gorgeously intense and deep, incredibly well-balanced, and for us, clearly in need of age. If you enjoy really intense wines, this is for you; and if you don't mind waiting, this is for you; hey, this is for you too!

Winemaker's Notes
"Dark and viscous violet tones, with an expansive nose of roses, violets, plum and graphite. The meaty, muscular palate opens with espresso notes leading to plum, black licorice and raspberry parsed over dense, rich and pliant tannins. A kaleidoscope of layers reflects the complexity most associated with the best blocks of the Marchiori Vineyard. "
