2007 Yering Station Pinot Noir Yarra Valley

This is an earthy, yes earthy, Pinot Noir -- don't expect masses of fruit. It is a terrific value in a Burgundian style pinot, and is excellent on its own or served with the usual culprits such as grilled lamb or roasted fowl.

James Halliday
"94 pts ... Stronger colour than many from ’07; likewise, more powerful than prior vintages, with tannins quite evident, although not excessive; plum and black fruits will hold the palate for the longer term. 13% alc."
Stephen Tanzer
"89 pts ... Bright red. Fresh red berries and rhubarb on the pungent nose. Lively, sharply focused strawberry and bitter cherry flavors show good energy and complicating notes of cola and mocha. Open-knit and ready to drink; the finish is gently sweet and persistent." --07/11
