"This wine exhibits tremendous hues of deep vibrant reds and purples. Dark cherry, blackberry and raspberry cola dominate the aromas, combining with the complexities of toasted vanillin oak and a finishing hint of anise. Rich ripe blackberry and plum carry through the flavor profile, with sweet raspberry and chocolate notes of mocha. This is a terrific wine with tremendous structure yet a graceful texture through to the finish. The vineyard that produces this wine grows in shallow red brown sandy loam soils."
"91 pts ... A blend of 88% Shiraz and 12% Grenache, the deep garnet-purple colored 2008 Rustom Farm Pughouse Shiraz Grenache is scented of warm black plums, blueberry compote and dried cherries with hints of black pepper and dusty earth. Full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, the spiced berry preserves flavors are framed by medium levels of rounded tannins and lively acid before finishing long. Drink it now to 2018+." --05/14

$27.9994 JH Confessing a bias toward California Zinfandel, the small percentage in this essentially Grenache-Shiraz blend give it both a familiar touch and an exotic note. Medium-bodied and nicely meaty, the wine blossomed as it opened taking on more berry flavors balanced by some nice tannin. A terrific playing partner with a hearty green salad herbed up with sage, rosemary and red onion, and heaped with Italian salami, manchego, cannellini beans and fennel.
