"91 pts ... The glass-coating, opaque purple-colored 2009 Malbec Late Harvest was made with naturally dried grapes using the appassimento method. The wine finished at only 14% alcohol but with 108 g/l of sugar and spent 18 months in 100% new French oak. Plush on the palate, it offers up loads of sweet black cherry fruit. It has a different aromatic and flavor profile than Vintage Port (the wine is not fortified and was made with new oak) but can be utilized at the table for similar purposes."
    Winemaker's Notes
"This sweet wine is lush and brimming with rich blackberry pie and plum flavors, with a touch of violets and spice cake. At only 13.5% alcohol and 117 grams/liter of residual sugar, it is the perfect after dinner wine and maybe one of the few dessert wines that truly goes well with chocolate."
