Winemaker's Notes
"Plum and blackberry are supported by clove and spicy notes with a rich earthiness. Game and leathery characters add complexity. The ripe fruit, sweet oak and firm tannins create a robust, complex wine with excellent length. This wine will drink well from 2012."

Technical Notes
"31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, 16% Malbec. Aged 12 months in 85% French oak barriques, 30% new. 14% alc."
Wine Advocate
"91+ pts ... A Bordeaux blend, the 2009 The Navigator gives a medium-deep garnet color and aromas of blackberries, red currants, kirsch and dried Provence herbs with touches of toast and menthol. Medium bodied and elegantly fruited, it's showing a little evolution on the palate with some savory meatiness, a medium level of fine tannins, lively acid and a long finish. Approachable now, it should drink to 2019+." --10/12
