Winemaker's Notes
"The 2009 Red One has intense aromas of red and black fruit aromas against a backdrop of subtle black pepper, toasted coffee, and chocolate notes. Cocoa characters emerge on the palate and intermingle with the fruit to add great complexity to this voluminous red blend with a pronounced persistence, lush tannins, and an elegant mouthfeel."

Technical Notes
"50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot. The grapes were hand-picked in mid-April and immediately transported to the winery for sorting and gentle de-stemming. Next, the fruit was cold macerated for four days followed by a warm ferment lasting four to five weeks and punch downs took place three to four times daily. The wine matured for 12-14 months in French oak barrels, 33% new. 14% alc."

Lush and creamy on entry, offering sweet dark fruit compote flavors and gentle spiciness. Delicious black cherry flavors with a tarry, charcoal nudge on the mid-palate, balanced with nice tannins and structure on the long finish. Pretty powerful so give it some air or a little more time in your cellar.
