"Imprimata aims to be in the best expression of this McLaren Vale vineyard. This vintage is a blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Petite Sirah aged for 15 months in 2-3 year old French and American Hogsheads. The Tahbilk clone of Shiraz (one of two clones planted at the property) comes from the oldest winery in Victoria and tends to produce wines that are reminiscent of the northern Rhone revealing more lifted violet and spice character. Petite Sirah is naturally higher in acid tannin and color bringing structure and minerality to the blend. 14.9% alc."
"91 pts ... Dark and chewy, with a green olive note prominent in the mix. Offers intensity and presence, letting the ripe blackberry flavors come through on the long finish. Shiraz and Petite Sirah"
"92 pts ... (made from 60% shiraz and 40% petite sirah): Inky ruby. Powerful cherry and dark berry scents are complicated by notes of mocha, licorice and pipe tobacco. Deeply concentrated blackberry and candied plum flavors pick up spiciness with air, along with a hint of lavender. A forcefully long, velvety finish echoes the spicy note."
