2014 Pikes Dry Riesling Traditionale
Clare Valley, South Australia

Hints of Riesling petrol on the nose and really fresh, clean aromas of citrus and wet stones as well. These follow in the palate and long finish together with zippy acidity, lemon, lime, and fine minerality. Delightful quaff.

Winemakers Notes
"Fresh, crisp and dry; the palate is chock full of all the lemon/lime/slate characters mentioned above, neatly coiled around a spine of crunchy acidity that provides length and drive to the soft, dry finish. As always, it makes a lovely drink as a crisp, young wine, but will easily improve in the bottle for 6-10 years+ for those who like Riesling with a little age. I am yet to discover a better oyster wine than young, dry Clare Valley Riesling. 11% alc."
James Halliday
"95 pts ...Estate and contract-grown fruit from Polish Hill, Watervale and Sevenhill, it is the 30th consecutive release of this wine. Lemon leads the flavour charge, hotly pursued by lime, then vibrant acidity catching up on the finish, with a reprise of the lemon. Drink through 2025."

From the highly regarded '12 Clare Valley vintage, right now, this wine is truly yummy. Flavorful, dry and zippy. You can just taste the future and it will be even more scrumptious. So well balanced and just the right amount of fruit - we taste white stonefruit.
