2014 Two Hands Gnarly Dudes Shiraz
Barossa Valley, South Australia

Who can resist the Dudes? Dark red fruits and just a hint of pepper on the finish; really well-balanced. Fabulous with ground lamb burgers infused with a paste detailed on the Torbreck Woodcutter's Shiraz page.

Winemaker's Notes
"A melange of fruits explode on the nose; bright red berries, spiced plums and chocolate coupled with subtle hints of fresh flowers and cedary oak. Pure and focused with lively black berries, black pepper and bitter chocolate. Lovely bright acids and fine yet tight tannins provide the ideal framework to a palate that is both long and pure. This wine has the intensity and power without ever feeling rich or heavy. A great Gnarly Dudes from an equally great 2012 Barossa vintage."

Technical Notes
"The many parcels making up this wine were crushed into and fermented inopen top vessels, with regular pump overs 3 times daily to extract flavours, colour and tannins. The batches were then drained and pressed to tank and then racked to barrel for oak maturation where malolactic fermentation occurred. All batches were kept completelyseparate as usual and blended just prior to bottling. Matured 12 months in hogsheads, 8% new French oak, the balance 2-6 year old French oak. 14.8% alc."
Wine Spectator
"92 pts ... Polished and rich, with black cherry, dark plum and licorice flavors, merging against a glassy texture and chocolate notes on the long, sleek finish. Drink now through 2022."
