Technical Notes
"100% French Oak. Each vineyard block was individually assessed for barrel selection and matured separately for 19 months in predominantly Burgundian oak prior to blending. New oak consisted of 40% of the blend. The balance was a combination of 2 ñ 3 year old oak. 14.5% alc."
James Halliday
"96 pts ... Both the bouquet and palate command immediate attention, exhibiting a near-perfect paradigm for McLaren Vale shiraz. Medium- to full-bodied, but without any obvious alcohol warmth, it has an unbroken stream of black fruits, licorice, dark chocolate, cedary oak and fine, ripe tannins; the balance, line and length reflect the very good vintage and equally good winemaking. Drink through 2030."

Wine Advocate
"94+ pts ... Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 RSW Shiraz entices with a seductive creme de cassis, exotic spice and blackberry compote nose dotted with hints of vanilla and incense. Medium to full-bodied, it is a surprisingly elegant and very structured style that is both concentrated and refreshing before finishing long. Drink it now to 2024+."

Winemaker's Notes
"The palate is complex with intense plums and black berries supported by fine cedary oak, cinnamon spice and liquorice. The wine displays an amazing presence in the mouth, with wonderful freshness, intensity, depth and texture. McLaren Vale Shiraz at its finest. Will reward cellaring for 10-15 years from vintage."
