Paul Hobbs Cabernets
Mendoza, Argentina

This trio of Cabernets is exceedingly delicious in no small part because of the winemaking skills of Paul Hobbs, founder and chief winemaker at Vina Cobos (Bramare and Felino) and consulting winemaker for Riglos. The yummy, full-bodied Felino is assistd by 4% each Merlot and Cab Franc and is a super value. The Bramare and the Riglos are a bit more deft and savory. The Bramare shows darker fruits while the Riglos has red fruits and hints of chocolate and pepper.

Each three-pack includes one each of the following:

"This is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon; a highly colored, intensely fragrant and firmly structured wine with the ripeness and breadth of the new world and the restraint of old world sensibility. It opens up with Cassis, licorice, herbs, black pepper and pain grille. The wine feels voluminous and weighty on the palate, with high-toned tactile fruit, raspberry, chocolate and hints of mocha; with lush tannins in full dialog with the elegant acid backbone and oak aromatics."

2013 Vina Cobos Lujan de Cuyo Cabernet Sauvignon
Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina

"Deep black garnet in color, this Cabernet Sauvignon meets the nose with aromas of blackcurrant and hints of cedar, dried herbs, Serrano ham and tobacco. The assertive entry displays blackberries and plums with undertones of cola and black tea. Firmly structured and velvety through the mid-palate, it finishes with gripping tannins that suggest a wine of great ageability."

""Dense garnet color accompanies an earthy nose, rich with aromas of cassis, mocha and lavender. The palate is bold and complex, weaving black currant and boysenberry with graphite and sweet tobacco. Ripe tannins and subtle minerality find perfect balance over a lengthy finish."
